I know you aren’t too sure, but you know what, just get into the ring. Take the plunge first and flow along. Play with the uncertainty. Dance with the fear.
Look, more often than not, everyone is often merely making an attempt. In fact, in today’s ever-changing world, nobody actually knows for sure and there’s increasingly no longer a right way nor wrong way.
Most of the big success stories that you read about, today, come from people who were willing to simply give a try, despite the odds that were stacked against them. They decided to embrace the innovator’s dilemma (as the American scholar, Clayton Christensen would say) and it turned out that the scale tipped in their favour.
Newness can be scary atimes and it’s normal.
When you decide to leave the old for the new, it definitely comes with its own fair share of legitimate concerns, but that’s how progress happens. And sometimes, it’s the only way to the kind of progress that you seek. You will have to get into the dance floor first to have a chance of dancing with the opportunity that leads to progress.
The idea is, until you attempt the impossible, you can’t really know what’s possible. And there is no best time to take the jump, neither is there really a rule book to do so. If you want to master the art of swimming, you don’t go hanging around the pool everyday, hoping that one day you will become skilled, no. You simply take hold of your nerves and jump. Yes jump….and allow the conversation begin.
Whichever way, you aren’t going to come out of this life alive and it will be better if you always say to yourself, what if it works!
