To continue from yesterday’s conversation, I do think that People are the most important asset that you can have in your “boat”, whether that boat means marriage, a company or a team of whatever type.
You are only as strong as the people on your team. No matter how good you may be, there’s only so much that one man can do. If your team is weak, there is only so much your individual ability will be able to pull off. And for a fact, you can’t upscale a mediocre team. You can’t pick a bunch of random football players and inject one sharp goal-scorer and get them to win the champions league. It doesn’t work that way. What is true is that, at a level of Wisdom, it gets clear that just as every team is as strong as the individual talents in it, each player is also just as effective as the support he receives from the collective strength of the team.
Peer support and pressure often make a lot of difference.
Going forward, I want you to be grateful for the people in your life and for all the immense value that they represent.
You are because they are — Ubuntu!
